Squad Leader Hange had been paying countless visits to the military hospital; her current experimental subject and obsession had been the same woman that Erwin found nearly three months ago now - most of the Recon Corps have called her 'Anonymis', but Hange didn't liked that. She thought of it as an immature attempt to copy

the Greeks and sound cool while at it. Many seemed to have volunteered to stay away from the young woman, but she was the only one who had volunteered to keep an eye on her. It started off like walking on glass for Hange; she didn't know what to expect or how exactly she would've reacted to the unexpected. Her mind was too preoccupied with the meticulous data and various details of heart rates, blood pressures, blood type and whatever medical information and biological makeup - which explained nothing but that the young woman was ordinary, normal and most importantly, human. That was why she had to reconsider everything she had ever known about the outside world.

But the unfriendly and unforgiving atmosphere even infected towards the Recon Corps and Hange herself; whenever she returned from her visits, she was greeted with all too familiar frightened stare. She had no problems when it comes to dealing with those glares, but she felt it was wrong to have done so towards a harmless and completely human, wounded person as Anonymis.

Walking back to her office quarters in her evening haul with the usual medical files in her hands,
she immediately bumped into her assistant, the same Moblit Berner, and a senior colleague, Mike Zacharius. They were just coming out through the door when Mike spotted her.
"Hange," his dark husky voice called her out; she whipped her depressed head up at that, "How's everything? Is she okay?"
Hange sheepishly nodded her head; she let out a nervous laugh as she scratched the back of her neck, "Well, it's just same old, same old! She still hasn't woken up..."
"I-I'll mark the calendar!" exclaimed Moblit as he heard her statement and headed back into the office.
"It's strange. What are the chances of her waking up at all at this rate?" voiced Mike as he cupped his chin.
"Um, to be honest, I don't want to think about it," Hange looked away; with an aloof expression, she merely flipped open a file in her grasps and began, "She's been unconscious for almost three months now. The MP and the Garisson want an answer as to why, but none of her medical statuses have shown any changes by far - well, nothing that contradicts the fact that she is as human as any of us or that she is healing progressively well."
"You work yourself too hard, Hange."
"But it's true! Her vitals are fine and I have seen her blood samples countless of times! She is human, Mike!"
"What I meant was," Mike stepped up and patted her shoulders just as he was about to pass, "You have bags under your eyes and Moblit tells me that you rarely have any proper sleep. Things will be fine, Hange. I know you know that."
"N-no, that's not true!" Hange clenched a fist and slammed it against her chest, "How could you say such things when we have both the MP and the Garisson demanding an explanation at our gates? How could you tell me that things will be fine when it won't ever be - especially knowing that if she had ever woken up from this coma, she'll only be the rope in the tug-of-war between all three military branches!?"
"Hange, I - "
"Do you really know, Mike? DO YOU REALLY KNOW?" as she received a silent treatment from her male colleague, she exhaled a tired sigh and fixed her glasses before continuing, "I'm sorry for raising my voice... T-things got out of hand..."
Mike sighed as well as he shrugged, crossing his arms to his chest. "It's okay, Hange," he said calmly, "I understand why you're upset. But you have to be aware that you were the one who made the decision to accept her into our lives."
"I-I know that. I just find it difficult to realise that leaving her out of the walls dying and taking her in saving her life yet exposing her to torture was the same damn thing - deteriorating my own humanity."
"That's not true. You said it yourself: we have to think positive for Anonymis' sake."
"Yeah," Hange nodded, glancing at her inferior officer before handing him the files in her hand; she watched as he took it away into her office before she turned back to Mike, "Anyways, please update Erwin on this. Her vitals were normal... There was a point where it hiked a bit in the early mornings... maybe an effect of dreaming - I'm not quite sure myself. As for her response to pain, there were some signs of consciousness as her heartbeat and blood pressure heightened... So since everything's been positive so far, I can say that she's never been better; most of her motor nerve damages have healed and so has her slipped disks surprisingly! Her cuts and bruises have left her flesh for now... But I don't want to go as far as to think that they will return considering - "
"Hange, think positively, remember?" chuckled Mike as he patted her once more.
"R-right," Hange smiled blushingly before withdrawing herself; she waved goodbye to Mike
as she reached for her door, but suddenly she called him back, "And bloody hell, stop calling her Anonymis! Can't you boys think of a better name?"
"What do you have in mind, mother?"
"Baumwurf!"
"Wha - " Mike was cut off by Hange's bursting laugh.
"It means treehole, silly!" she walked off into her room as she went on laughing, leaving a flabbergasted Mike behind.
He thought about it silently; then it struck him - forcing him to chuckle as well and shook his head, "Of course! She did come from a treehole! Why didn't I think of that?!"

Hange was still laughing as she entered the room; poor Moblit jumped at the volume of it, which earned an even louder one. He proceeded with copying the data from the medical files, deducing at intervals as to what it could mean and listing possible side-effects of medications and whatnot. Hange seated herself at her usual place as she watched him; at eager prompts, she gave out her own descriptive opinions on the reaction and effects - looking awed all the time. Moblit did what he was supposed to and wrote them all down for their records.
As he finished his two hour long of painstaking writing, Hange chuckled at the sight of him yawning and stretching his arms, cracking his knuckles in content.
"What do you feel about this, Moblit?" she suddenly queried, perked up brown eyes waited anxiously for his answer; but she quickly added, "It's been three months now! Not to mention, spring is already here!"
Moblit shrugged his tensed shoulders as he pouted; his blue eyes narrowing in deep musing, "Well, I'm not sure of what to feel... Half of me thinks she might wake up soon and the other half hopes that she'd just stay unconscious till the MP and the Garisson grew tired of waiting."
"I-I actually have the same feeling... I too feel somewhat guilty about dragging her into this mess. I feel... responsible."
"But if she does wake up and all, how exactly would we all be like? I mean, are we all prepared to hear what she has got to say? Will we even understand her or will she speak our language? D-do we even know what that's like in order to react?"
"Y-yeah," Hange huffed out an irritated sigh, "I do imagine that from time to time... It gets me irked and excited all the same time... But all in all, I
don't know what to feel or how to react - watching her sleep, observing the growth of her dark hair, the disappearance of her bruises and all, just makes me feel closer to her in a way!"
"W-what was that like?"
Hange took a while to take in a deep breath; she rested her face on the back of her hand as she propped on one elbow, eyes drifting softly into the horizon of her ever dim office, and her mind trailed off towards earlier that day. "It was tender," she began; Moblit popped his eyes opened and started to listen in, "I feel light headed if I stare at her too long... I mean, I get this weird feeling like I have to shelter her, protect her, shield her from all those stupid prejudices and murderous glares... Whenever I touch her skin, it drew bubbles from the pit of my stomach and I feel even more protective... especially when those nurses would treat her aggressively - sometimes they were never gentle at all!
Other than that, it was really overwhelming - just in the way that I know she is human... or that she is normal - the more information I get, the more reaffirmation I conclude with. But definitely, I feel as though she is a part of me or rather mankind that I've found... a very fragile part of us that we've once lost. Like I said, even if I don't know her, I feel responsible over her..."
"Geez! You sound like someone who's in love!" guffawed Moblit.
Hange turned beet red at that; she fixed her glasses and flustered sheepishly as she tried to refute him, "T-that's not true! I-I think you're being silly! I was just saying that in a sisterly way!"
"Yes, just like every man says they're just being brotherly!"
"N-no, I'm serious!"
"Anyway," as Moblit stiffled his laugh, he readjusted his position in his seat and nodded with a smile, "I think I know what you mean. She is vulnerable at this rate and stage, so of course, you get worried about what will happen if she wakes up. Let's not forget that we're part of the military as well as we are also aware of what the general public thinks of her... Even I feel responsible for her just as well."
"If that's true, then why won't you see her?"
"W-well, Squad Leader Smith doesn't want people to pay too much attention on her than they already have... I-I would've gone to see her if he hadn't said something like that..."
"Are you sure that you're not only saying that?"
Moblit nervously scratched the back of his neck as he tried to gulped that heavy lump in his throat, "Y-you're right... I guess I would've been
afraid of her just like everyone else."
"But why?" Hange's voice nearly croaked its way out in a broken hearted manner, "You saw the data - everything we've collected so far says that she's normal! She's human, Moblit! What else do you want her to do - bleed to death in the hands of a titan? If that happens, would you then accept her as being human?"
"Squad Leader Hange, I-I apologise... It just is isn't easy to accept that someone could've survived outside the Walls - I mean, who knows how long she's been out before we found her... It's daunting! Everyone even started a rumour that she may've been a - "
"A titan?" Hange finished for him; the dark glints in her eyes glared at him for a while before it disapeared in the shimmering glasses of her spectacles. "You know that's not possible..."
"W-well, it's just that at this rate, anything's possible. That's what people are trying to say now that we've found her..."
Hange dragged her chair against the floor as she stood up suddenly; "Anything's possible, eh?" she gazed out the window sill behind her seat and folded her arms to her back, "Let's just hope for now that her waking up tomorrow is just as possible as anything... Now is not the time for us to think about us, because it's all going to be about her."
As I have said before, this actually mainly Erwin x Amnesiac!Reader x Levi (not enough space on the title). I'm a HUGE Levi fan... ._. lolza There will be plot materials from the original SnK series as well as its spin-off (mainly Levi's "A Choice WIth No Regrets") and character from that series.

I will edit ALL the story parts according to reader-insert manuals (you know, the usual [l/n], [f/n], [h/c], [h/l], yadda yadda).

THIS IS PART TWO OF THE SNIPPET!
